Hitachi Energy has been selected for the delivery of the Darwin-Katherine battery energy storage system (DK BESS) in Australia’s Northern Territory. The tender holds a value of USD 32.1million.
The company will be delivering the major components of the 35-MVA facility and the project will deploy Hitachi Energy’s virtual synchronous machine technology.
This project is in line with the Northern Territory’s goal of using 50% renewable energy by 2030.
