Rs.76,000 crore to be spent by the Government of India for modernization of its military

In a bid to reduce India’s dependence on foreign imports and boost the indigenous defense industry, the Defence Acquisition Council(DAC) has approved projects worth Rs.76390 crore.

The list of approved projects is as follows

  1. Indian Army to procure Rough Terrain Fork Lift Trucks(RTFLTs),Bridge Laying Tanks(BLTs), Wheeled Armoured Fighting Vehicles with Anti-Tank Guided Missiles(Wh AFVs), and Weapon Locating Radars(WLRs).
  2. Indian Navy to procure Next Generation Corvettes(NGC).
  3. Hindustan Aeronautics for the manufacture of Dornier aircraft and Su-30 MKI aero-engines.
  4. The Digital Coast Guard project.

RFI issued by Indian Navy for a hospital ship

The Indian Navy has issued two RFIs(Request for Information) for the Construction and Procurement of a National Hospital Ship(NHS), a floating 250-bed hospital on the sea.

The ship will include, facilities such as an ICU ward, a labour room, dental care facility, blood bank, telemedicine room, an oxygen plant, aerial evacuation deck, boat ambulance, two major OTs, and two minor OTs.

The Indian Navy will issue RFPs(Request for Proposals) based on the responses to the RFI.

The deadline date for the RFI is 15 July 2022.

Tender floated for ERCA Propulsion System by US Army Department of Defense

The US Army Department of Defense has floated a tender from the purpose of conducting a Market Survey to identify potential sources who are capable of producing and supplying charges for the ERCA(Extended Range Cannon Artillery) Propulsion System.

The deliveries are expected to begin in FY’24 and are currently only for the General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) in St. Petersburg, FL.

Deadline is 4th Feb, 2022.

Tenders to be floated for STP by Kerala Water Authority (KWA)

Kerala Water Authority (KWA) will be floating tenders for building four STPs(sewage treatment plants) as a part of the ₹528-crore Integrated Urban Regeneration and Water Transport System (IURWTS) project, in March ’22.

The STPs are to be built in Elamkulam, Vennala, Muttar, and Perandoor. The plants will have a capacity to treat 31 million liters per day (MLD) of sewage, covering over 40% of Kochi city.

Tender floated by BMTC for Automatic Fare Collection system

In a bid to offer their customers a seamless payment facility BMTC has floated a tender for Automatic Fare Collection, this will allow the customers to pay for any facility in the BMTC premises

Works include DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT, SUPPLY IMPLEMENTATION, INTEGRATION, MAINTENANCE, AND MANAGEMENT OF AUTOMATED FARE COLLECTION SYSTEM (AFCS).

The estimated value of the project is ₹45 crore.

A tender has been floated by the Uttar Pradesh government for building the largest heliport in India, the project is coming up in Noida Sector 151 A. It is a global tender and the agency will be hired on DBFOT(design, build, finance, operate and transfer) basis through PPP(public-private partnership) model.

Tender to be floated soon For 20 MW Electrolyser

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited is planning to set up the largest Green Hydrogen plant in India, which will help it achieve net-zero emissions for its operations by 2040.

They are expected to float a tender for a 20 megawatt (MW) electrolyser to build the country’s largest green hydrogen plant in Bina, Madhya Pradesh.

300 MW hybrid wind-solar project in India awarded to Tata Power

Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has awarded TP Saurya Limited (TPSL) a subsidiary of Tata Power a contract to set up a 300 MW wind-solar hybrid power plant.

The bidding was conducted through an e-reverse auction and the project is going to be commissioned within 18 months of PPA execution.
